Summer Issue – Change featuring “Bloom,” by Stephanie Dyer

Welcome to the late Summer 2012 issue of Exhale.

Our theme for this issue is Change. Over the next several weeks we will be sharing unique voices from the adoption, loss and infertility communities that expand on this theme through powerful essays, poetry, fiction and works of art.

Bio: Stephanie Dyer is a Connecticut based artist and mother of five who specializes in images of pregnancy and motherhood. A self-taught artist who began painting images of pregnancy as unique baby shower gifts for friends, Stephanie’s free-form style results in a painting that has been built over a period of time layer by layer. Stephanie’s work has earned her recognition across the web and has been featured on Today’s Mama, Naturally Knocked Up, Faces of Loss, Still Standing Magazine, Exhale Magazine, Still Life 365, in publication ‘Resolve Through Sharing’ manual a , and forthcoming on television.

Stephanie owns and operates Beyond Words Designs and runs the Donate Art Project, a charity that honors the memory of her fourth child, Amelia, who passed at birth due to Turner’s Syndrome in 2010.

She blogs weekly at beyondwordsdesigns.com and is a monthly columnist for Still Standing Online Magazine. Her image, “Empowered,” is currently under contract with NBC Universal/Fox.
